This course examines the representation of femininity and gender in Italian cinema from the silent era to the present, engaging with feminist film theory and related critical frameworks. Through close analysis of films and readings, students will investigate how Italian cinema has constructed, contested, and redefined images of women across diverse historical, political, and cultural contexts.
